**Mathematically Sound Foundations (MSF) has provided this list of resources to help students, parents, and teachers with math. MSF has not necessarily used all of these resources. The ones that have been used and are highly recommended by MSF will have ** by them.

Math Resources for Parents and Student:

This is a list of online math programs and tutoring schools that you may find helpful for supplementation, remediation or a complete curriculum.  We do not recommend one over another, but suggest that you go to websites, try them and determine which will work best for your student.

It’s useful to know that WA state law gives parents the right to single subject home school.  That means you can opt out of school math and home school your child in math only.  Some of these online programs and tutoring schools offer a full curriculum of instruction and assessment.

Online math:

ALEKS: Through adaptive questioning, ALEKS accurately assesses a student’s knowledge state and then delivers targeted instruction on the exact topics the student is most ready to learn.

BYU:  BYU offers common math courses that are transferable to most colleges and universities. Independent study allows students to complete courses at their own pace. Once registered, a student has one year to complete a course. Independent study is an excellent way to get that extra class to fit in your busy schedule.

Carnegie Learning: Founded by cognitive and computer scientists from Carnegie Mellon University in conjunction with veteran mathematics teachers, Carnegie Learning has the courage to not only question the traditional way of teaching math, but re-invent it.

 Indian Math Online: Indian Math Online is a web-based learning system developed with the principles of mathematics as practiced throughout the education system in India.

Ixlmath:  K-8.  We approach each math concept from all angles, offering visual representations, word problems, interactive activities, and more. With an abundance of math problems for every learning style, students can’t help but build lasting skills and confidence.

Kaplan Academy:  Kaplan Academy provides a flexible, results-oriented online high school designed to give students the attention and tools they need to succeed as they prepare to meet the demands of a technology-driven, global economy.

Khan Academy: What started out as Sal making a few algebra videos for his cousins has grown to over 2,100 videos and 100 self-paced exercises and assessments covering everything from arithmetic to physics, finance, and history.

Kuta:  The Math Worksheets information blog is dedicated to bringing math students math resources in math worksheets format. All math worksheets on this Math Worksheets website are free math worksheets aimed to provide math help for math students.

Stanford: Education Program for Gifted Youth offers a complete sequence of mathematics courses from the kindergarten-level through the advanced undergraduate-level. Mathematics at EPGY has four divisions: Elementary, Secondary, AP, and University.

Vedic Mathematics Academy:  An introduction, simple tutorials, lists of resources on Vedic Mathematics. It also sells books on Vedic Mathematics.
